Information you give us

When you send an enquiry through a form on this site, we collect what you type into it. Depending on the form, that is your name, email address, phone number, travel dates, number of guests, and anything you write in the message field. We use it to answer you and, if you go on to stay with us, to arrange your stay.

If you subscribe to our email list, we collect your email address and any name you give, and we use it to send you occasional news and offers. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately.

Bookings

Room bookings are not processed on this website. When you click through to book, you are handed to our booking provider, Little Hotelier, on the direct-book.com domain. Anything you enter there, including payment details, is collected and processed by that provider under its own terms and privacy policy. We never see or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, ours collects some information about your visit through cookies and similar technologies:

• Google Analytics 4 tells us how many people visit, which pages they read, and roughly where in the world they are. It does not tell us who you are by name.
• The Meta (Facebook) pixel lets us measure whether our paid social advertising is working and show ads to people who have visited the site. This one is genuinely optional and does not load at all until you accept it.
• Google reCAPTCHA runs on our forms to stop automated spam. Google collects hardware and software information and behavioural data to tell humans from bots. Its use is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
• Optimole serves our photographs from a content delivery network, which involves your browser requesting image files from that network.
• GTranslate powers the language switcher and stores your language choice.

Your cookie choices

The first time you visit, you will see a banner asking whether to allow analytics and advertising cookies. Nothing beyond what is strictly necessary to run the site loads until you choose. If you decline, analytics stays limited and the advertising pixel never loads at all. You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information, and we never have. We share it only with the service providers named above, so they can do the job we use them for, and with anyone we are legally required to share it with. Our booking provider and our email provider hold the data they collect on their own systems.

How long we keep it

Enquiries sent through our forms are kept for as long as we may reasonably need them to answer you and to keep a record of your stay, and are then deleted. Email subscribers are kept until they unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained under the default retention period set in Google Analytics.

Your rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop sending you email. Email info@themaryanne.com and we will deal with it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA, and we will honour those where they apply to you.

Children

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
